PERSONAL PROJECT: ALLIGATOR ROBOT
This project is the sequel to the Caterpillar robot I had developed earlier. It uses the same multi-servo walk-system that I had developed for the Caterpillar, though this moves significantly faster. The 8 servos are powered by a LiPo battery, and the Arduino is powered by a 5V cell phone power pack. The app controlling the robot via Bluetooth is the exact same as the Caterpillar project’s.
I call it an Alligator robot because of my designs for it to become amphibious, using its four legs as oars to paddle though the water. I will need to expand the body’s volume for its 2-kg mass to float in water, before covering it in a waterproof and water-tight material. I plan on using double layers of plastic rain poncho.
